Baklava

Ingredients1 (16-ounce) package frozen phyllo dough, thawed.....1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted....1 cup finely ground pistachios....1 recipe prepared Earl Grey and Orange Syrup (1/2 cup)... Directions1. Preheat oven to 350˚. Generously butter a 2x9x9 baking dish; set aside.

2. Unroll the phyllo dough; cut the stack in half, and trim sides to fit the baking dish. Cover the phyllo with a lightly damp kitchen towel.

3. Place 3 sheets phyllo in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Using a pastry brush, generously coat the top sheet with melted butter. Sprinkle layer with pistachios, and drizzle with about 2 tablespoons Earl Grey and Orange Syrup.

4. Repeat process using remaining phyllo, butter, pistachios, and syrup, ending with a layer of 6 phyllo sheets.

5. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until phyllo is crisp and golden brown.

6. Using a sharp kitchen knife, cut the phyllo into 4 (2 1/4-inch-thick) rows, being sure to cut all the way through to the bottom. Cut the dough crosswise into 9 (1-inch) diagonal rows, creating 36 diamond-shaped pieces. Pour remaining Earl Grey and Orange Syrup over top of warm baklava.                                                                                                                                                               Recipie for Syrup                                                                                                                   Ingredients...2 cups brewed Earl Grey tea* Ingredients2 cups brewed Earl Grey tea* ..2 cups sugar..2 tablespoons orange zest..2 tablespoons corn syrup..1/2 vanilla bean, split lengthwise and scraped, seeds reserved...2 tablespoons unsalted butter, diced ....                                                               Directions                                                                                                                                                                                                                ....................1.
